Kempele public library

Kempele public library serves at two different locations. The main library is located at the shopping center Zeppelin, in the 3rd floor. Tietotori, a combined public branch library and a school library, is located at the school center.

Opening hours

The main library is open during the winter Mon-Fri 11-20 and Sat 10-15. In the summertime (Jun-Aug) Mon-Fri 12-19, Sat closed. Tietotori is open during the school terms Mon-Wed 12-18, Thu-Fri 12-16. Tietotori is closed during school holidays. When libraries are closed, customers can return their books to the returning boxes, which are located beside the doors of the libraries.

Services

In Kempele library you can borrow books, music, videos, CD-ROMs, sheet music and magazines. Loan periods are usually four weeks (books, sheet music), two weeks (CD-discs, textbooks, magazines) or one week (videos). In both libraries customers can also use computers to read e-mail, use Internet services or use word-processing. The library offers also a good selection of newspapers and magazines which can be read in the library's cozy reading room. Most of the staff can serve customers in English.

Kempele library is one of the OUTI-library network, which consists of  eleven public libraries in the province of Oulu. The customer and material register are common. Ask more about the service in the library.

Library at home

From libraries database, you can look at our material, make reservations or renew your own loans by internet also in English. To renew your own loans you need a password, which you get from the library.
