Nature and the environment
In Northern Ostrobothnia, in Kempele you will find, amongst many other things large aapa bogs and very old natural forests, which are unique by Finnish and indeed by international standards. Great plains dominate the municipality's coastal scenery. The nature is so complex and extremely beautiful that you really have to experience for yourself.
Liminka Bay
Liminka Bay is a famous bird paradise. It is known for its great feeding grounds for birds, and is located in the municipality. Many greylag geese, ducks and several different types of wanderers populate the area. Liminka Bay is a very well-known and visited place amongst bird enthusiasts.
