A pleasent, well serviced municipality
Kempele municipality's slogan is " It is good to grow up in Kempele". The municipality is an active developer of services. Kempele is Finland's largest municipality calculated by the old inhabitants to newcomers- ratio. New inhabitants are young families who require day-care and school services. Our youthful municipality has one of the highest education levels in Finland.
Kempele prides itself on its schools. They aim to the future, just like the whole municipality and therefore encouraging entrepreneurship is included in the municipality's educational plans. Kempele offers a wide range of culture: from art, theatre, concerts and choir festivals to the Gardening Institute's Kevät alkaa Kempeleestä (Spring begins from Kempele) - flower festival.
Good main services
Kempele has good main services. There is a health care centre, day-care centres and schools in the different areas of the municipality. The municipality has a vocational college and units of Oulu Natural Resource Institute are located there. The hilly surroundings and well maintained sports areas offer great possibilities for outdoor activities. The municipality values business operations and their development very high.
Kempele is co-ordinating itself to be the growth centre for the southern Oulu region. The main aim is the well-being and good livelihood of its people. It is easy to live, work and play in the heart of such a diverse and facilitating, international environment.
